Summary
It has been stated that reliable qualitative identification of isocyanurate rings directly in urethane-isocyanurate elastomers (EUI) can not be realized using ATR method. Such identification becomes possible only on the basis of the analysis of EUI hydrolysis in acid medium products. It was done using following methods: FT-IR (Fig. 2), 13C NMR (Fig. 3), HPLC and UV (Figs. 4 and 5). There was found that investigated EUI samples, obtained by two-step method (via prepolymer) using commercial cyclopolymerization catalyst "Polycat 41", contain the products of free NCO groups cyclization.
