RMS-800 Rheospectrometer as a representative of new generation of instruments for rheological investigations

Polimery 1990, No 11-12, 454

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1990.454

The design of a novel instrument of Rheometrics Company, USA, namely of RMS-800 Rheospectrometer controlled by an IMC computer, has been presented. The possibilities of application of this instrument in static and dynamic experiments have been discussed. It is possible to determine with this instrument a.o.: complex modulus and its components, mechanical loss, maximum torsional moment, shear stress, normal stress, viscosity, and shear rate. Some examples of practical application of Rheospectrometer, e.g. for the determination of glass transition temperature and molecular mass distribution, have been presented.
