Reaction of tertiary long chain aliphatic amines with epichlorohydrin
The effect of time and epichlorohydrin excess on the amount and type of products formed In its reaction with longchain dimethylalkylamines has been studied. It has been found that the chain length has a considerable effect on the rata of adducts formation, whereas its effect on the adducts composition, i.e. on the ratio of glycidylammonium compounds to propenylammonlum compounds in the adduct, is negligible.
