Summary

The course of ethylene polymerization in the presence of two component catalytic systems: MgCl2 (THF)2 /TiCl4 + Et2AlCl and MgCl2 (THF)2 /Et2AlCl/TiCl4 + Et2AlCl was compared. In the last system the carrier of titanium catalyst, namely MgCl2/THF complex, was modified by the addition of Et2AlCl. This addition promotes formation on the MgCl2 surface of crystalline bimetallic complexes of the MgCl2 Et2AlCl 2THF type. A kinetic analysis of the experimental results of polymerization indicates that this modification of magnesium carrier results in a considerable increase (by 44%) of the number of active sites.
