Summary

Results of flow time measurements for different samples of suspension PVC in cyclohexanone, dioxane and dimethylformamide at temperature near to polymer Tg (353 K) have been presented. Maxima of flow time, tp in the initial period of dissolution have been observed. The values of tp are proportional to the weight average molecular weight of the PVC samples. It has been suggested that polymer sub-primary particles which may appear in the solution are responsible for the observed effect. However, the effect depends not only on the molecular weight but also on the local concentration of the polymer samples.
