Selection of materials and modelling of some properties of blow moulded containers
The importance of supermolecular structure as well as temperature and conditions of cooling in the processes of manufacturing containers by blow moulding of various polymers (mainly РЕ-HD, PP, PET and PVC) was demonstrated. Three groups of methods of modelling the useful properties of containers were characterized, namely generation of appropriate supermolecular structure, selection of polymer blend composition and designing of multilayer systems. The essential properties of polymers used in the manufacture of containers were compared, namely their chemical and thermal resistance, dynamic strength properties, rigidity, barrier properties and mutual adhesion.
