Summary

A review of the latest data concerning the synthesis, properties and methods of investigation of solid bisphenol-A epoxide resins has been given, with particular attention paid to the synthesis via polyaddition process. The results of studies on the kinetics of polyaddition and side reactions as well as on the methods of chemical modification of epoxide oligomers have been discussed. The results obtained and the fields of application of the most often used analytical methods (GPC, NMR, VPO, UV- and IR-spectroscopy) have been presented. Attempts of a mathematical description of phenomena connected with the polyaddition process have been mentioned.
