Summary

The most important properties of solid polymeric electrolytes moped with inorganic salts (mainly lithium salts) as well as methods of modifying the structure of these systems leading to an improvement in the ionic conductance at room temperature were discussed. A particular attention was devoted to electrolytes containing blends of polyethylene oxide) with other polymers [e.g. with poly(methyl methacrylate) of various tacticity], composites of polyethylene oxide) with mineral fillers (SiO2 AI2O3, Na3.2Zr2Si2.2P0.8O12 or ethylene oxide copolymers.
