Solvent less processes of preparation of a polyurethane layer of leather-like poromeric material.
Part I. Preliminary studies
The preliminary studies have been carried out aimed at the development of a commercial process for the manufacture of a leather-like material based on domestic raw-materials, ensuring environmental protection and an economic energy consumption. Three solventless processes of preparation of the polyurethane poromeric layers of the leather-like material have been compared: by blocking the isocyanate groups of urethane oligomers with sodium hydrogen sulfite in a water dispersion, by formation of an interpenetrating polymer network, and by the utilization of physically or chemically foamed linear polyurethanes. The most promising proved to be the last mentioned process, to be described in detail in the 2nd part of the paper.
