Stretching of UHMWPE film
This work is an attempt to explain the reasons behind the formation of particular distributions of orientations of (110) and (200) planes family in UHMWPE films stretched at a temperature of 130°C. These distributions are superposition of two functions with a narrow and with a broad distribution of orientations. These results indicate that such character of the distribution of crystallites orientation is connected with film porosity caused by solvent removal with the application of extraction method. The presence of pores results in changes of the cross-section of stretched films along their length. Local changes in the stress field can also be expected due to the presence of these pores. This results in a heterogeneous nature of the deformation of porous samples.
