Studies of the crosslinking degree of linear polyurethanes. Part I. Studies of reactivity
of urethane group in model compounds
The thermal stability of three low-molecular-weight compounds modelling urethane group in linear polyurethanes has been compared and n-butyl carbanilate has been selected as a compound the most stable under conditions of the chromatographic analysis. It has been found that the trifluoroacetyl derivative of this compound, prepared in the reaction with trifluoroacetic anhydride, is also stable under conditions of gas chromatography. Thus, it is possible to utilize this reaction in the determination of secondary N-atoms in crosslinked urethane elastomers.
