Studies of the long-term static strength of some structural adhesive joints

Summary

The results on studies concerning the long-term static peel and shear strength of adhesive joints for steel have been presented. As adhesive, Epidian-5 epoxide resin hardened with technical-grade triethylene tetramine and containing flaky powder of aluminium, PAlB 1 as a filler, has been used. The effect of the thickness of the adhesive layer (0.5—5 mm) and of the filler content in it on the long-term static peel and shear strength as well as on the ration of this strength to the corresponding dynamic strength has been determined and explained.
