Studies on properties and gelation of coatings from modified PVC plastisols

Polimery 1984, No 5, 148

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1983.148

Summary

The results of studies on gelation process and properties of coatings prepared from PVC plastisols modified with „kreolak” (cresolic lacquer) resin have been presented. As other additives suspension PVC and VC-VAc copolymer have been used. It has been observed that the addition of the modifying agent increases the resistance of coating to the action of organic solvents, shortens the gelation time and raises the f low temperature of the coating. Addition of suspension PVC and VC-VAc copolymer improves some mechanical properties and chemical resistance of the coatings.
