Studies on propylene polymerization in the presence of catalytic systems
Several ethylfluorochloro-Al compounds have been obtained in the reaction of sesquiethylchloro-Al with NaF in hexane. Their catalytic activity as components of a catalytic system (containing TiCl3 0.1 A1C13 0.2 Bu2O) for apropylene polymerization process has been tested. It has been found that the activity of compounds of chemical composition Et3 5A1C10.7_ o.75F0.b_ o.7 is the highest. The results of polymerization, i.e. the capacity of 1900—2000 g PP/g Ti and the atactic fraction content of about 2%, are comparable with the respective values for a diethylchloro-Al catalyst and for imported Ti-catalysts of 2nd generation. Application of Ti-catalyst modified by propylene results in an increase of PP bulk density and a beneficial change of polymer particle size.
