Summary

MgCl2 obtained by thermal decomposition of ammonium carnallite MgCl2 · nNH4Cl·6H2O has been applied as a carrier for the catalytic system AlEt2Cl+TiCl4. Porous structures of MgCl2 and of deposited catalyst have been described as a function of molar excess of NH4Cl in the initial carnallite, as well as the influence of structure on the effectiveness of catalyst for the polymerization of ethylene.
