Studies on the fractionation of epoxide resins. Part III. GPC analysis of Epidian-1 resin
The efficiency of several solvent-nonsolvent systems in the process of fractionation of the Polish-made Epidian-1 resin with Mn = 1040 has been compared. The fractions thus obtained have been characterized by means of the GPC-method. The efficient fractionating systems were chloroform/heptane and toluene/isopropanol pairs, whereas the dioxane/water pair was much less effective. The problem of the relationship between the effectiveness of the fractionating systems and the values of the solubility parameters of both thier components and the epoxide resin has been discussed.
