Studies on the glycolysis process of high-molecular-weight poly(propylene carbonate)

Summary

The reaction of glycolysis catalyzed by tetracthoxytitanium in the medium of toluene of a high-molecular-weight polypropylene carbonate) (Mn = 105) by a number of glycols was investigated. When using 1,4-butancdiol, 1,6 -hc2 hexanediol or oligooxyethyleno glycol (Mn = 200) oligocarbonate diols (OC) with Mn of several thousands were obtained. It was stated that 1,2-ethanediol, 1,3-bulancdiol, and neopcntyl glycol inhibit the glycolysis reaction. The glycolysis products (OC) and diphenylmethane diisocyanate were used in the synthesis of polyurethanes and some mechanical properties of these polyurethanes were determined.
