Some properties of blends of hydrolytic PA-6 with anionic PA-6 scrap (chips) were determined. This scrap is formed during machining of semifinished materials (sheet and shaft materials of various dimensions). Scrap material was ground and specimens were prepared by injection moulding of blended granulates. Blends containing up to 70 mass-% of anionic PA-6 scrap were prepared. Addition of this scrap to hydrolytic PA-6 (Tarnamid T-27) resulted in an increase in hardness, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity and in a decrease in impact strength. Processing properties (flowability) remained al most unchanged. It is advisable to remove monomer from scrap before blending it with hydrolytic PA-6. Such blends can be used as construction materials.
