Summary

It has been demonstrated that the reason of a considerable increase in viscosity of concentrated polyester-silicone resins in a two-component solvent (94.5:5.5 parts by weight e thylglycol acetatein-butanol) is the association of macromolecules. This phenomenon is the more pronounced, the higher is the initial viscosity of the solution of resin. An addition of a small amount of water — acting as an acceptor of hydrogen bonds — results in the destruction of the supermolecular structures in the resin.
