Supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst. Part II. Structural investigations of the catalyst
Supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst.
Part II. Structural investigations of the catalyst
The results of structural investigations of several types of Al2O3 used as supports of the system of TiCl4+Al(C2H5)3 catalyst of propylene polymerization have been described. A correlation between the charakter of the crystalline as well as porous structure (specific surface area, radius of pores, distribution of specific volume. In the function of the radius of pores) of the catalysts and their activity and stereospecificity in the polymerization process has been found. The concept of a useful contact surface area which determines the catalyst activity has been introduced.
