Surface and interfacial phenomena in polymer melts–thethermodynamic theory
In homogeneous interfacial region between immiscible polymers has been characterized using simple terms of physical state of the system. The method of analysis of the problem by the mean-field theory has been outlined. It can be proved that the interfacial tension between immiscible polymers depends, above all, on the differences in the polymer structures. Thei nterfacial tension depends also on the chain length distribution in the interfacial region. Pure energetic interactions are of less importance.
