Synthesis and properties of linear-chain semiconducting polymers: polyenes and polyynes
A review of literature concerning the chemical and physical methods of synthesis as well as some properties of linear-chain polyolefines with a system of multiple bonds has been presented. As a limiting case, the polymeric allotropic form of pure carbon has been investigated. A high structural heterogeneity of the majoraty of synthetic polyenes and polyynes has been pointed out. The examples of potential applications of this-type semiconducting materials have been given.
