Summary

Liquid polymethyleneacrylamlde (PMAA) of molecular weight about 400, containing 3—5 unsaturated bonds per molecule, has been obtained in the reaction of acrylonitrile with formaldehyde in the presence of concentrated H2SO4 at 80°C. PMAA is cured by radical Initiators, and it exhibits weak anaerobic properties. A similar product has also been obtained from acrylamide and formaldehyde.
