Summary

Ran-block-(ABC)n type poly(siloxane-ether-ester) (PEES) multiblock terpolymers were melt-polycondensed from a,ω >-dihydroxy-oligo(tetramethyleneoxide) (PO4) (Mn = 1 103 g/mol) and a,ω-dihydroxy-oligo(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) (Mn= 4,6.103 g/mol) used each as the flexible segments. GC and GPCanalyses of by-products and PEES extracts revealed the composition of the terpolymer and the content of unconverted oligomers. Melting point, density, tensile strength, elongation at break, stress at 100% elongation, hardness, and rebound elasticity were determined for the terpolymers containing 4.5—33 wt.% of PDMS.
