A review of various phase equilibria in polymer–solvent systems has been presented from the technological standpoint. Phase equilibria in the following types of systems were discussed: crystalline, amorphous (liquid), liquid crystalline, that of block copolymer with a selective solvent, and that of crosslinked polymer with a solvent. A brief discussion of the importance of the phase equilibria in processing of polymers, as well as in the stage of their synthesis and utilization was presented. The type of phase equlibrium depends on polymer properties, type of solvent used and on external conditions (e.g. deformation of the system).
