The effect of branching degree in the soft segment of the chain on some mechanical, relaxational
and thermal properties of block copolyesterethers
The effect of the content of branching agent — [oligo(1,2-oxyethylene)triol] with molecular weight about 3000 on the mechanical, relaxational, and thermal properties of copolyesterethers (KPEE) on the basis of dimethyl terephthalate, 1,4-butanediol and oligo(oxytetramethylene)diol was determined. The branching agent was added to the reaction mixture in an amount in the range of 0.1—1.0 mole-%/mole KPEE. The DSC and viscometric measurements revealed that the presence of this agent did not change the structure of rigid segments in KPEE, whereas the branching agent caused crosslinking in the soft segment, as shown by studies of the static and dynamic relaxation processes.
