Summary

In the temperature range of -20°C to +100°C some selected mechanical properties of KPEE containing 10-100 wt.% of hard segments from oligo(tetramethylene terephthalate) (PTMT) and soft segments from oligo(1,4-oxytetramethylcnc) (PTMO) of molecular weight 650, 1000, 2000, and 2900 were determined. The higher is the mass fraction of PTMT the higher is also hardness, yield stress, plastic deformation and breaking stress of KPEE. The breaking elongation in the function of this mass fraction posses a maximum, its position being dependent both on temperature and on molecular weight of PTMO. Some effect of the glass transition temperature (Tgg) and melting point (Tmg) of soft segments on the mechanical properties of KPEE was also observed.
