Summary

The activity of N-550 and PM-15 carbon blacks in respect to various elastomers (IIR, NR, BR, SBR, NBR) has been investigated. It has been found that the activity of carbon black as a filler depends not only on the properties of the filler itself, but also on the kind of elastomer matrix in which carbon black has been dispersed. The experimental results have revealed that in this case an essential importance have several features of the elastomers, namely chain flexibility, unsaturation degree crosslinking density and chemical structure of the network. In the papers on the activity of fillers this aspect of the problem has not been sufficiently considered.
