Summary

The course of co-gelation of PCW-S68 with VC-VAc copolymers of the Winicet 60/10 and 70/5 grades in the process of rolling the plasticized compositions has been studied. Polymers with an exactly determined morphological structure of grains have been used in these studies. It has been found that the differences in properties of PVC and VC-VAc copolymers as well as a high heterogeneity of the grains of the mixture have a pronounced effect on the morphological structure and mechanical properties of the plasticized compositions thus obtained. The effect of the heterogeneity of grains increases with lowering the temperature and shortering the time of gelation. A sufficiently homogeneous structure of the plasticized compositions is obtained after rolling them at 160°C.
