The effect of the screw rotation speed, pressure and temperature of the extrusion process on the mechanical properties (tensile stress at break and tear) and optical properties (opacity, gloss, light transmittance) of PE-LD film and on changes of these properties due to natural aging. Regression analysis has shown that complex relationships between the useful properties of film and their changes due to aging and the extrusion parameters exist. By using quality coefficients determined by the choice functions, the film quality has been assessed from the point of its useful properties and changes of these properties due to aging. Recommendations relating to the choice of extrusion parameters have been presented, with the aim to obtain high-quality film with good mechanical and optical properties.
