The influence of silanes on the scorching time of rubber compounds and some properties of natural
rubber vulcanizates crosslinked with diurethane
The influence of the type and amount of a silane on the scorching time of rubber compounds and some properties of natural rubber vulcanizates crosslinked with diurethane derived from PNP and TDI has been investigated. It has been proved that the addition of 1 phr of silane per 100 phr of rubber in the system tested double the scorching time and ensures achievement of optimum properties such as tensile strength, tensile stress at 100, 200 and 300 per cent elongation, and friction coefficient. Addition of silanes exerted negative influence on the remaining tested properties, what in turn limits their application in the diurethane systems.
