The influence of the disc zone of a screw-disc extruder on the structure and properties
of low-density polyethylene (PE-LD) extrudate (in English)
Polimery 2014, No 11-12, 845
The article presents the results of analysis and research of the disc plasticizing mechanism operation on the mechanical, thermal, and structural properties of extruded material. The analysis of velocity distribution and trajectories of the material's displacement leads to a conclusion that the flow of polymer melt through the clearance between the discs arranges the supermolecular structure and in this way results in an extrudate with improved mechanical properties.
