The manufacturing process of epoxide oligomers from various bisphenols
On the example of model reactions of phenol and ortho-N-methylamidophenol with epichlorohydrin in alkaline medium, the effect of bisphenol acidity on the kinetics of epoxide oligomer synthesis has been investigated. A system of a series of subsequent and parallel reactions has been proposed to describe the mechanism of this synthesis. Process has been simulated with computer and a good coincidence of the calculated and experimental reaction rate constants for the individual elementary reactions has been observed.
