Summary

The spectrometric methods of investigations of the structure of surface layer of the activated polymer film have been characterized, with particular attention paid to photoelectron spectroscopy (ESCA). The results of ESCA method obtained in the activated of the oxidation process of surface layer of the activated LDPE film and of the identification of the oxidation products have been presented. A particularly rapid increase the oxidation degree caused by an increase of the unit energy of partial discharges in the range of its values from 0 to 1500 J/m2 was observed. Formation of amine groups in the surface layer was not observed. These groups could be formed from nitrogen ions present in the stream of low-temperature plasma. LDPE film without additives, such as lubricant, antioxidant, antiblocking agent, is oxidized more rapidly under the action of activation than LDPE film with such additives.
