Polimery 1984, No 10-11-12, 386

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1984.386

Summary

The present production of bulk thermoplastics production in the Neftokhim-Burgas Combine has been presented. There are now license-based manufacturing plants of low-density polyethylene with a capacity of 84,000 t.p.a., high-density polyethylene (20,000 t.p.a.), polystyrene and styrene copolymers (23,000 t.p.a.), and polypropylene and ethylene- -propylene copolymer (80,000 t.p.a.). The total production capacity of thermoplastics amounts to 207,000 t.p.a. in 1984. The intended directions of the future development of the Combine till 2000 have been discussed, too. They comprise the modernization of the low-density polyethylene and polypropylene manufacturing plants, intensification of high-impact polystyrene technology and starting-up of the production of several types of special thermoplastics, e.g., non-inflammable polymers, polypropylene for structural applications, polystyrene with a reduced monomer content. Till 2000, the planned output of thermoplastics in the Neftokhim-Burgas Combine will increase by 275,000 t.p.a.
