The reaction kinetics of low molecular weight bisphenol A based epoxide resins with bisphenol A
in the presence of inorganic salts used as catalysts
The results of the investigations on the kinetics of the polyaddition reaction of bisphenol A-epoxide oligomers with bisphenol A catalysed with the salts of Li, Na, K and Mg have been presented. The effect of temperature, catalyst concentration, type of anion in catalyst molecules, stirring and content of hydrolysable chlorine in the epoxide compound on the course of the main and the side reaction has been investigated. The reaction rates in the presence of the individual catalysts as well as the values of their selectivity coefficients have been calculated.
