The rheological principles of screw design

Polimery 1986, No 2, 60

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1986.060

The methods used in the calculation of screw geometry — taking into account the rheological properties of thematerial as well as the working conditions of extrudes and injection moulding machines — have been discussed. Phenomena taking place in the individual zones of screws have been presented and special attention has been paid to the processes of transport and homogenization of the processed polymer in dependence on the geometrical parameters of these zones.
