Summary

The effect of the cooling and annealing rate during cry­stallization and heat treatment on the strength properties under static tension of polypropylene of the J-400 homopolymer grade has been discussed. Tests have been carried out on compression moulded specimens. For the specimens investigated, specific gravity, heat of transition, DTA curves and crystalline structures by polarized-light microscopy have been measured. Conclusions from the investigations have been presented.
