Polimery 1988, No 7-8, 267

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1988.267

Summary

Various method used in the modification of plastics have been characterized, the main emphasis being concentrated on one of the most promising methods, namely the thermal treatment method. The aim and variations of thermal treatment processes have been discussed, as applied to the improvement of properties of thermosetting materials. The effect of thermal treatment on some selected mechanical properties of articles moulded from phenolic moulding powders has been analyzed. Two types of Polish-made phenolic moulding powders have been investigated under various conditions of thermal treatment. It has been found that by changing the conditions of this treatment it is possible, to obtain desired mechanical properties in accordance with the actual exploitation requirements.
