Thermal treatment of polyamide-6 and polytrioxane

The effect of thermal treatment (heating in oil at the temperature of maximum recrystallization) on the changes in strength properties, degree of crystallinity, size of crystallite sand super molecular structure of polyamide-6 (Tarnamid В and Tarnamid T-27), Itamid 350 (polyamide-6+35% glass fibre), and polytrioxane (Tarnoform 300) has been studied. Thermal treatment results in the increase in tensile strength, elasticity modulus in bending, flexural strength (except of Tarnoform 300), hardness, degree of crystallinity and size of crystallites (except of Itamid 350) and in a decrease of notched impact strength. Thermal treatment contributes also to ordering of the supermolecular structure.
