Titanium glass fibres as plastics reinforcement

Polimery 1984, No 6, 207

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1983.207

Summary

A series of diverse comparative electrical and mechanical tests has been carried out for polyester compositesin theformof NOL-rings, rods from roving, laminates from mats and DMC-compounds. It has been shown that fibres prepared from the Polish-made titanium-boron glass and used as reinforcement in plastics are not interior to fibres prepared from the hitherto manufactured boron glass, and under some respect, e.g. resistance to the action of boiling water, they are even superior.
