Summary

Transition metal (Ni, Co, Pd, Fe, Cr) salts of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) crosslinked by divinylbenzene have been investigated by IR, EPR and derivatographic methods. The salts were obtained in the re action of transition metal chlorides with surface carboxyl groups of PAA. It has been found that Ni and Co ions form 4-coordination complexes at the surface, while Fe and Cr ions form 6-coordination complexes. The investigated salts exhibit high thermal stability as it has been found by the derivatographic method.
