The chemism of condensation of urea with formaldehyde at the concentration of about 50% CH2O and 1—3% CH3OH in formalin has been investigated analytically. The content of free formaldehyde, hydroxymethyl groups, and methylene and dimethyleneether bridges in various stages of condensation have been determined by the iodometric, sulfite and

Zeissel methods.
