Summary

The influence of the addition of cryogenically crushed and powdered rubber scrap derived from worn tyres on the properties of rubber compounds has been investigated The rubber compounds based on natural rubber, polybutadiene, and butadiene-styrene rubber filled with carbon black and containing powdered rubber were tested. It has been found that rubber powder exerts positive effect on some properties of The vulcanizates. Batches of test passenger and truck tyres with powdered scrap rubber in the tread compound have been manufactured and tested under special testing conditions as well as under traffic conditions. It has been found that in respect to tyre mileages and safety performance the tyres tested are not inferior to the serial production tyres.
