Vinyl chloride emissions from the PVC Plant at the Nitrogen Works Włocławek S.A.

Polimery 1996, No 11-12, 690

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1996.690

The PVC Plant running the „Shin-Etsu" Company's licensed process (put on stream in 1981-1983) and the six PVC grades produced have been described. Activities are reported that led to new PVC types (e.g. to Polanvil S-70 SM used for medical equipment to be contacted for a short time with human blood) and to the optimization of the existing procedures to improve the properties of the PVC types produced. The residual monomer content was reduced to less than 1 mg VC/kg PVC. The major foreign companies are presented that cooperate with the „Włocławek" to modernize the PVC process. Future activities postulate outputs raised up to 250,000 and 350,000 tons/year by 2000 and 2005, respectively.
