Summary

The diffractometric methods used in the determination of solid-state conversion of acrylamide, based on calibration curves, have been presented. These curves have been obtained from measurements on mixtures of crystalline monomer and amorphous polymer of known compositions. The values of conversion degree of acrylamide versus time of polymerization obtained with various X-ray diffractometric methos and by gravimetry have been compared. The possibility of application for this purpose of combined methods, based also on calibration curves, has been presented. To prepare these curve in combined methods, both the diffractometric and non-diffractometric methods, e.g. gravimetric method, are required.
