Abstract

The main purpose of the project is to develop of technology for obtaining hybrid halogen free flame retardant additives based on halloysite, graphite and melamine salts. This compounds have been received by modification graphite and halloysite by melamine cyanurate or melamine phosphate or melamine polyphosphate. These hybrid flame retardant were introduced to selected materials: polyamide 6, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyester resins, epoxides. Modified plastics were examined by oxygen index test and vertical and horizontal flammability test. The highest flame retardancy classes FH-1 and V-0 were observed. Mechanical properties of selected compositions were measured. There is no adverse effects of the additive on the mechanical properties final compositions. Patent applications have been made: P-404282 (2013), P-401343 (2012), P-400381 (2012), P-400297 9 (2012), P-400296 (2012). The results of the study are regular presented in the form of publications and presentations at scientific conferences.
