Preparative and commercial-scale fractionation of dextran. Part II. Gel permeation chromatography (GPC)

and fractionation making use of the lack of mutual tolerance of polymers (LMTP method)

Polimery 1993, No 1, 1

DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1993.001

Summary

The potential and actual uses of the GPC and LMTP methods for separation of dextran into fractions were discussed. The LMTP method was presented in detail on the example of a dextran-poly(ethylene glycol)/water system. Several examples of fractionation, including mixed techniques (e.g. membrane techniques combined with GPC), were given. The practical utility of various techniques of separation into fractions was compared.
