Summary

In this review the general requirements set by consumers of moulded products as well as a detailed description of basic criteria for selecting a particular injection method in order to fulfill of the specific areas of these requirements have been presented. The following properties of moulded parts were taken into consideration in making the choice of criteria: geometrical properties [dimensions, wall thickness and their variations, simplicity or complexity of shapes (Fig. 1)], esthetics (Figs. 3 and 4), weight (Table 1), mechanical properties (Fig. 5), variety of application properties (Fig. 6), production costs, volume of production series and deadlines (Figs. 7 and 8) as well as recycling possibilities.
