Summary

The characteristics of crystallization of partially crystalline thermoplastic polymers during the injection molding was presented. The formation of crystalline structure during the subsequent stages of this process was discussed. On the basis of literature data the mathematical models describing the kinetics of isothermal and non-isothermal crystallization processes were characterized from the point of view of possibility of their use in the injection molding process. As well the method of determination of pressure, specific volume and temperature dependence (p-v-T) at fast cooling of moldings i.e. at actual injection molding conditions, taking into account the crystallization kinetics, has been presented. The calculations presented relate also to partially crystalline thermoplastic polymers.
